I used "high temp" silicone when I put my DynaGlide muffler on. It worked OK (I let is set up overnight before starting), but it burned up after about 6 months. When I took the muffler off to fix the leak (pipe starting to blacken where the leak was) there was nothing but ash/crisp stuff in there. I fixed it with muffler putty and have had no problems so far, but my understanding isd that muffler putty is permanent (as in forever, unchanchable, etc....). Ask me in a year.
